Meet the Team

Amanda Reid

Greater Green Island Community Worker (30 hours)

I have been a Community Worker with Presbyterian Support Otago for 5 years and have a passion for Community Development.  I am pleased to be working alongside of Leanne and the Committee in the Greater Green Island Community. I am also a local resident with many family and friends living in the area.

Leanne Stenhouse

Greater Green Island Community Worker (10 hours)

I live in Brighton with my husband and two daughters. I am an active member of the Saddle Hill Community Board and I am passionate about all things community. I love the Greater Green Island Area and am happy to be involved with anything that helps strengthen and improve our communities.

Steve Hayward

Greater Green Island Community Network Chairperson

I have had the wonderful pleasure of being the Green Island School Principal for the past 10 ½ years. Our school plays an active part in the Greater Green Island Cluster of Schools and in the wider Green Island Community. I enthusiastically support many of the new initiatives that are being promoted in our area at present. I play an active part in some of those local organisations. Like our own family, our own Community is so very important and helps make us who we are. We really do have something very special in our Greater Green Island area and it is great to be a part of it. The future looks so exciting.

I am the Green Island Community Constable. I have worked at the Green Island station for more than 16 years and have lived in this area for 23 years. I have seen this community has a strong community spirit and I have joined this organisation to try and make this area and even better place to live. To enhance what we already have and make available to new and existing residents the many and varied sporting and cultural groups we have. This is a great place to live but I can see no harm in trying to make it better and the place to be in the Dunedin area.

Melanie McNatty

Committee Member

I am currently the Practice Manager for Presbyterian Support Otago Family Works in Dunedin, who are the fundholders for the Greater Green Island Community Network.  I have many years experience in legal, advocacy, social work and community development both here in Dunedin and previously in Invercargill and I lead the Community Development team at Presbyterian Support Family Works.

Jan Clark

Committee Member

I have been working in the Greater Green Island area for the last four years serving as the Anglican priest based at St Mark's, Green Island and St Margaret's, Brighton.  My family and I have lived in the Dunedin area for over 16 years having family connections that go back much further.  I love the sense of community found in these areas, a precious gift in a busy world and worth fostering for future generations.

Jules Haldane

Committee Member

At the time the GGICN was initiated Jules was a small business owner in GI, with involvement in the GI Lions club, a child in local school, married to Stew who has lived in GGI  his whole life and works locally. This gave Jules the passion to want a better community for not only her own family , but for everyone. No longer in business, Jules is involved in The Community Garden, and the newly formed Leos Club, a youth initiative through the Lions Club. Jules is proud to be a "Green Islander" and looks forward to being a part of the growth of the place she calls home.
