We offer Fellowship and Friendship, as well as an opportunity to put something back into our Local community. Even though Green Island is a suburb of Dunedin City, we have a real small town, community feel. We raise funds through a range of projects and our first priority is to support our local people, especially young people, schools and community groups in the area.
Our fundraisers include; cooking hot food in our Catering Caravan, selling bagged sawdust and fertiliser through a stall at the Green Island Rummage Shop and selling Lions Mints. Second-hand goods are also sold or repurposed. For example we collect used eyeglasses which are repaired and donated to people in the pacific region. We also support a wide range of charities and fundraisers. Some of those include, The Special Rigs for Special Kids Day, our local Spartans Rugby Tournament, The Brighton Gala, The Otago Community Hospice Car Run, the Food Bank Appeal, Camp Quality and Heads Up for Kids which collects old money and turns it into cash for youth projects in New Zealand. If you want to put something back into the community and have some fun doing it, give us a ring
