Big Rock is a full primary school located in the beautiful coastal community of Brighton.
At Big Rock we ensure that we have rock solid foundations in Reading, Writing and Mathematics, which is fully supported with strong and meaningful links to Science, Social Science, Technology and the Arts, all lead by an excellent teaching staff. We also have an in depth Physical Education programme, that includes a comprehensive swimming programme in our indoor heated pool, as well as surfing for older children.
The school is well resourced across all classes and all children from Year 4 up are provided with their own laptop to support learning at no cost to parents or whanau. As part of the ICT programme children also undertake learning in Robotics.
The school also operates a fully fitted tandem kitchen that is utilised by all of the children to support Literacy, Numeracy and Nutrition learning programmes.
Children are also encouraged to play a range of sports on offer in an out of school competitions.
