The Sustainable School

We’re a school without walls, a movement to nurture future-ready kids through joyful, hands-on, story-rich STEAM learning to primary school children, inspiring creativity, curiosity, and care for our planet.

Founded by Alice Yu Yuebo, a PhD candidate at the University of Otago and passionate sustainability educator, we help kids explore big ideas like climate change and innovation through play and purpose.

Our vision is simple: to grow curious, creative, and conscious eco-leaders β€” wherever they live.

At TSS, we empower children between 9-15 years old to explore sustainability through fun, hands-on STEAM activities that spark creativity, curiosity, and care for the planet.

Our Vision:
To grow a generation of curious, creative, and conscious kids who lead the way to a sustainable future.

Our Mission:
Embed sustainability through joyful STEAM learning that builds lifelong curiosity and care for the planet.
Cultivate creative thinking and problem-solving through play and real-world exploration.
Empower children to see themselves as capable contributors to a more sustainable future.

Our Pedagogy:
Our curriculum brings sustainability to life through interactive STEAM activities and meaningful stories. By combining tactile exploration with relatable narratives, children not only learn how the world works β€” they discover their place in it and how they can make a difference. As we believe:

🧩 Project-Based Learning + Storytelling lead to joyful discovery
🌿 Kids learn how the world works β€” and their power to change it
πŸ§ͺ Simple science and meaningful stories bring sustainability to life
