The Greater Green Island Community Network in collaboration with the Coastal Unity Church and local volunteers offer a food distribution service to local community members with food insecurity. Food is gifted from Kiwi Harvest.

Food Distribution in Green Island

The Green Island Community Food Distribution operates on

Thursdays from 1.30-2pm

At the St Margaret’s Presbyterian Church

208 Main South Road Green Island.

The service is run by volunteers in our community, Gail Stewardson and Brent Aplin.

Community members will receive 8 weeks of Food boxes to provide short term support. During this 8 weeks the Greater Green Island Community Network Community Workers are available to support people to join the Green Island Community Garden, set up a Green Island All Saints Fruit and Vege Package each week and/or visit with a qualified budget advisor if wanted.

After 8 weeks, a referral from a qualified budget advisor is required for further assistance (the Community Workers can assist in setting this up).
